Video about the history of the Main Building’s interiors, prepared for the opening of the second phase of the New Building

A short video about the evolution of the halls in the Main Building of the National Library of Russia on Sadovaya Street from 1814 to 2017. Archival lithographs, drawings and photographs from the NLR collections show how the Russian Collection Hall changed over time, followed by the Rare Book Hall; each segment ends by comparing the original appearance with the present day. The video was filmed in September 2017 for the opening of the second phase of the NLR’s New Building on Moskovsky Prospect.
